The Earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of human hosts, while leaving their bodies intact. Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away.Wanderer isthe host the Soul who has been given Melanie’s body, but she didn’t expect to find its former tenant to be refusing to give up her mind. As Melanie gives Wanderer visions of her human family, she begins to love people she has never known, and yearn for a man she has never met. As Melanie and Wanderer become unlikely allies, the Seeker needs information from Melanie’s mind. The way she see’s it, the world would be better with no humans left. So, if she can get Wanderer to tell her where Melanie’s human family is, that’s less humans left on Earth. Well, it didn’t exactly turn out like that. Melanie and Wanderer are now on the run, searching for some of the few humans left. When they find them, it’s not exactly the welcome they expect. Wanderer isn’t Melanie, and that seems to make most everyone hate her. Wanderer can’t tell Melanie’s family that she is alive, or they would kill Wanderer to save her. But, if Melanie is truly gone, what use does a soul have to a bunch of humans. Well, I guess this could end a couple different ways.

I absolutely loved this book, and I had it done in a week. I loved the context the author put into the characters, and how much meaning is to them. My two favorite characters are Ian and Jared, figures right? I love their contrasting personalities, and they’re roles in the story itself.
